Job Title: K-12 School IT Manager

Job Summary: The K-12 School IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of information technology (IT) infrastructure and services within the school. This role involves managing IT systems, supporting users, ensuring network security, and implementing technology solutions to enhance teaching and learning.

IT Infrastructure Management:

• Maintain and support the school’s IT infrastructure, including network infrastructure, servers, workstations, and peripherals.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues as needed.
• Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.

User Support:

• Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students on IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
• Respond to help desk tickets and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on IT tools and best practices.

Network Security and Data Protection:

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect the school’s network, systems, and data from cybersecurity threats.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.

Technology Integration:

• Collaborate with educators to integrate technology into the curriculum and enhance teaching and learning.
• Evaluate and recommend educational software, digital resources, and learning management systems.
• Provide technical support for instructional technology tools, such as interactive whiteboards, classroom projectors, and student devices.

IT Project Management:

• Plan, coordinate, and implement IT projects, such as system upgrades, software deployments, and network expansions.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Communicate project status updates to stakeholders and address any issues or concerns.

Vendor Management:

• Manage relationships with IT vendors, including hardware and software suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
• Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
• Coordinate procurement of IT equipment and services in accordance with budgetary guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA, are preferred.
• Previous experience in IT management, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong technical skills in networking, systems administration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of educational technology tools and trends in K-12 education.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and parents.
