Al Akhawayn University

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, was founded in 1993, and is fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). As the only English language institution of higher education in Morocco, and only the second U.S.-accredited university in Africa, AUI is a beacon of the liberal arts in the MENA region and a unique higher education offering in Morocco. The University enrolls 3,000 students and remains on-track with its ambitious current strategic plan to reach 5,000 students by 2025, combined with a strong commitment to enhanced academic quality.

Located in the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, approximately 45 to 60 minutes from the historic cities of Fez and Meknes, Ifrane offers both unparalleled natural beauty and a highly desirable, safe, and livable environment ideally suited to families.
