Mathematics Teacher (Intern) Full Time

The American School of Marrakesh is offering a unique opportunity for a Mathematics Teacher Intern to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic secondary school environment. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced educators, contributing to the teaching process while developing your skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support lead teachers in delivering mathematics lessons in alignment with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials, including worksheets, presentations, and interactive activities.
• Assist with the adaptation of lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
• Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment by supporting behavior management strategies.
• Monitor and assist students during classroom activities, providing additional help as needed.
• Aid in the creation and grading of assessments and assignments.
• Help track student progress and provide feedback on their performance.
• Participate in evaluating student work and providing constructive feedback to improve learning outcomes.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help or enrichment.
• Encourage and motivate students to engage with mathematical concepts and problem-solving.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge.
• Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback to continuously improve.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and execute interdisciplinary projects and activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student learning and development.

Qualifications:

• Professional fluency in English
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Understanding of secondary school mathematics concepts and curriculum.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and a genuine interest in supporting student success.
• Previous experience in educational settings or working with youth is a plus, but not required.
• Willing to learn.
