Middle School Math/Robotics Teacher Full Time

Required:

• Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences or a related field
• Professional Fluency in English

Desired:

• Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting
• Experience working in an international school is a plus

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mathematics

• Assess students’ current math abilities to identify specific areas for improvement.
• Develop customized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and group learning objectives.
• Conduct one-on-one and small-group remedial math sessions focused on foundational skills.
• Use a variety of instructional methods and tools to address different learning styles and abilities.
• Monitor and track students’ progress through regular assessments, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to boost student confidence and motivation in math.
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to align remedial goals with the overall math curriculum.
• Prepare and organize resources, including worksheets, manipulatives, and digital tools, to enhance remedial instruction.
• Foster a supportive and positive learning environment that encourages students to ask questions and engage actively.
• Identify and refer students with significant learning challenges to additional support services, if needed.

STEM/Robotics:

• Assist in the development and implementation of a STEM/robotics curriculum that aligns with educational standards and engages students in hands-on learning.
• Teach fundamental principles of science, technology, engineering, and math as they relate to robotics and coding.
• Instruct students on using robotics platforms, such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, or similar tools.
• Introduce and guide students in programming languages (e.g., Scratch, Python, RobotC) relevant to robotics projects.
• Design and lead project-based learning activities where students design, build, and program robots to solve specific challenges.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure a safe and organized classroom, including managing tools, robotics kits, and other equipment.
• Evaluate student progress through assessments, project evaluations, and presentations, providing constructive feedback.
• Organize and mentor students in extracurricular robotics clubs, teams, or competitions.
• Incorporate 3D modeling, electronics, and prototyping software to expand students’ skills in STEM.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities within the classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular projects, blending STEM with other subjects.
