The American School of Marrakesh is looking for a qualified Middle School Assistant Teacher with a March 2025 start date. The Assistant Teacher will support lead teachers in delivering high-quality education, fostering a positive classroom environment, and promoting the academic and personal growth of students.
The ideal candidate would have the following Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Degree in English Studies, Education or a related field
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Candidates with CELTA, TESOL or other ESL qualifications are preferred
Preferred:
- Fully trilingual candidates
- Two or more years of relevant work experience
- Passionate, innovative, and inspiring teaching who create stimulating and engaging learning environments
- Positive, open-minded, and flexible, with a desire to learn and grow
- Collegial team player who contributes to the community
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Provide individual and small group instruction to support student learning.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and field trips.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by lead teachers or school administration.
