Position Overview
● Demonstrates and teaches Design Tech in a classroom setting using hands-on activities, career
experiences and standards-aligned instruction.
● Designs and executes engineering experiments to create workable solutions.
● Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in Technology Engineering & Design
activities and modifies instructional methods to fit student’s individual needs.
● Continues to participate in professional development to stay knowledgeable of current developments
in the Technology Engineering & Design field.
● Prepares instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards, maintains equipment, supplies,
and other resources and maintains inventory records in accordance with AST policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience of teaching design tech.
• Secondary license or certification in counseling with a Master’s Degree (preferred) in the subject area.
• Knowledge of child protection issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and others.
• Positive attitude.
• Ability to participate in collaborative structures.
Preferred skills and experience:
• Recent and relevant professional experience.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Workdays: Monday through Friday 8:00 – 16:30
